Tybee Pier
Tybee Pier
Tybee Island has always been one of my favorite spots to visit. Even when I was a teenager, I was always more excited about coming to Tybee with my family when we would choose the beach over the Smoky Mountains. When I started getting serious about photography and had a decent camera, Tybee Island was one of the first places I took a solo day trip to so I could explore and see what images I could capture. This picture represents my first trip to Tybee with a film camera in hand. While I was able to get a lot of different images in many different film stocks, this image seemed to be the one that epitomized what kind of shot I think of when I think of beach photography. The other is the cliche image of a lifegaurd stand sitting alone on the beach. I did get one of those, but it wasn’t near as good as I had drawn it up on the drive in ;) I’ll keep visiting and getting different looks as I expand my knowledge and experience in film photography. For now I hope you enjoy this one!
